Question # 3 : Where can I apply the Taubman Approach?

Answer : Everywhere in life, with music being the most specific area.

More Information: One can apply the Taubman Approach to anything in life that deals with bodily motion. At the heart of the Taubman Approach is the study of bodily motion and furthermore, is the study of how the correction combinations of muscles, joints, and gravity work together to produce motions that are healthy to the body (which of course, feel good).

Though the Taubman Approach was initially developed for musicians (pianists, in particular), the motions that underlie this work can assist people with:

  • Typing on a computer
  • Brushing their teeth or using utensils (yes, some people have difficulty with doing this)
  • Other work that involves constant repetition of hand/finger motions

From my own subjective experiences, the results of the Taubman Approach produce a feeling of freedom that cannot be put into words. To put it simply, feeling the results of the approach opens up an entirely new world of musical (and non-musical) potential.
